Identification of safety requirements in workplaces
Identification of safety requirement in workplaces are conducted to deployed controls for minimize risk in workplaces for provides safe environment to employee.
In the manufacturing industry, mostly engineering and heavy machinery manufacturing companies are deal with heavy equipment and machinery that needs to identification of risks and identification of safety requirements in workplaces to conducting and deployment of proper controls to minimize risk level in the appropriate workplaces for provides safe work environment to employee working in various workplaces. Identification of safety requirement is identification of hazardous activities, materials of process that directly affecting human health or part of body that needs to managing each activity safely by controls over those activities. Identification of safety requirements of managing safety points in the manufacturing processes in various workplaces / departments where location to locations and each machine is observed for identification of safety requirements, during inspection or observation any risk / hazards are identified that proper action plan is determined by concern department or by management to minimize risk level or controlled over particular process or activity.
Identification of safety requirements or observation, identify hazards are responsibility of every one who working in workplace, but as primary responsibility of safety concern is safety officer, concern department manager are also responsible for identification of hazards and managing safety requirement within department, for the identification of safety requirements as per hazards identified by concern manager of department, department manager is monitoring each activity and identify hazards with contribution of department peoples, when all some potential hazards are identified that department manager is prepared the format which is safety point sheet where all the safety requirements are mentioned where action plans and controls are mentioned at appropriate places. Safety points sheet is maintained department wise, where all the activities, sub-activities are monitored, and identifying potential hazards in the processes or in machinery, equipment or any other ways that can harm humans are recorded, all the recorded hazards are analyze for determine proper actions to called safety requirements for particular process / activity that noted in safety points sheet, safety points sheet is maintained at in each department separately, but it can also maintain for whole company if the activities are concern or merged with each others. In workplaces as per current situation all the actions are prepared to control over it, for the controlling on the risk that managed by three ways:
- By change process or activity
- Substitute or eliminate process / activity
- Engineering controls
For the controlling over the risk in workplaces safety points are very important that needs to take immediate actions for eliminate or minimize level or risk / hazard in workplace to provide safe environment to employee working in workplace. The system is deployed by concern manager in particular areas or department where safety points are noted in list. The document is important part of the health and safety system in the company so records, documents and action plans are maintained as per standards and same are storage at appropriate places, generally one copy of the safety point is hold at safety officer, second copy with management representative of health and safety system and third one with department manager to communicate and for follow up actions are determined during the safety points analysis.
