8D Report: “8D means eight Disciplines” process or tool for problem solving. It does also can include in Quality tools in problem solving tools. 8D is reporting material that issues to customers as retort for reporting of success path from the particulars that it exact in all the important portion of problem handling.

Major part of 8D are includes Problem descriptions, its root cause analysis, Correction of problem and prevention steps of problems. For the keep steps of the root to handle 8D process are on base of reporting format. As below details are fills & analysis to get the result.

1^st D of 8D is TEAM

Basic requirements of 8D team should be cross functional. This is the first step of 8D process are build a team for 8D process to compose further investigation. The team will be involved in analysis, correction & prevention requirements for the particular problems.

2^nd D of 8D is Problem Description

As simple as we understand in this field is for description to assessment of the problem are mentioned in step 2. For understand what problem really is?, Generally, customers are best sources for reverse tracking for any particular problem. You can ask to your customer, what, where and how the problem was occurring.  You will get perfect solution of particular issue. 4^Th D of 8D is Root cause

This process step to performing the basic to top level analysis and investigation. The investigation needs to find out cause of problem. How & why? it occurring?. Of this part of 8D reports show the root cause analysis to detailed description of failure & reason of failure are occurred.

5^th D of 8D is Point Analysis & verifies corrective actions

This discipline used to identify point analysis all corrective actions & takes the root cause on problem identified. Escape point analysis – before implementation on this stage decides which points of corrective actions are acceptable to implement or which is escape from corrective actions.

6^th of 8D is Implemented permanent Corrective Action

In this section process owner documented its action plans, responsibility, targets & status of this process requirements. Corrective action’s all steps are records at this sections to monitor actions taken in step are on track as scheduled in corrective action plan.

7^th of 8D is Preventive Action

This is very important parts of this process is preventive action of ahead step of corrective action taken in previous shorted problems regarding any complaint. When any customer complain we received that, suppose we identified proper solution for the particular problem. We can implement same solution to all the similar issues from another customers. You have to ensure that the same problem are happen with other customers for particular lot or batch something or it can be happen !. For the solution or avoiding interruption some actions are takes before any problem happen. that’s preventive or impact action for founded problem.
